Science New Wave Lab
2025-26
On Friday, May 31, 2024, the Science New Wave Lab opened its doors with a vibrant launch, welcoming over 200 art/science hybrids for a ribbon-cutting celebration.
That evening featured a curated film program in the blackbox theater, animated tissue slides on the main screen, and live microscope demos illuminating the space.
As our first physical home, the SNW Lab embodied the ideals of the Science New Wave—hosting screenings, workshops, and gatherings at the intersection of science and film.
Nearly a year later, on May 2, 2025, we closed this chapter with our Labocine Spring Party. Why? We realized Labocine is a shapeshifting chameleon—global by nature, with communities and ecosystem budding about in various parts of the world.
We’ll be back in endless new forms. Until then, look out for our pop-ups and, of course, the Annual Science New Wave Festival every October in New York.
While the SNW Lab in Brooklyn has now closed its doors, our physical presence lives on through Galerie Labociné in Paris—a space born alongside the Science New Wave manifesto, dedicated to art, science, and experimentation. We also host a Luminary Residency program there every year.
