SNW Festival Submission
SUBMISIONS NOW OPEN VIA FILMFREEWAY / Submissions are now open for the SNW XIX.
Each October, the Science New Wave presents a slate of 64 visionary films from around the world that push the boundaries of scientific storytelling. Celebrating its 19th edition, this annual festival will stream on the Labocine platform from October 16-23, 2026.
The annual festival now takes place on Labocine as a curated viewing season, making the selected works accessible to a broader international audience and to the filmmakers, scientists, scholars, artists, curators, educators, festivals, museums, and galleries that make up the Science New Wave ecosystem.
In-person screenings are still very much part of this ecosystem. Many members of our community and PRO network are curators, programmers, and organizations connected to festivals, museums, galleries, universities, and cultural spaces. When opportunities arise and after the Science New Wave premiere, we help facilitate the circulation of selected works through these networks, creating possibilities for future screenings, programs, and collaborations.
This shift involves tradeoffs, but our community is made up of scholars, artists, scientists, filmmakers, and viewers from around the world, and we want them to be able to discover and engage with these works wherever they are.
